Introduction

Blacks and Whites in the US are frenemies, with intersecting histories, and cultures that are often as enmeshed as they are segregated.

Today, someone White or Black who's traveling abroad, is more likely to be viewed on sight as "American", than someone who is Latino, Asian or Arab. What is most often referred to as "American music", "American fashion", "American sports" or "American dance" is a hybrid of Black and White influences (arguably more Black in a surprising number of cases).

This blog is foremost an exploration of African American and European American relations, from the limited perspective of this writer, who is at the intersection of Black and White culture - a biracial American with one Black parent and one White parent.

I'll spend some time exploring topics related to Black/White biracial identity, but mostly in the context of Black and White American relations and politics.

I appreciate feedback. I consider my blog interactive - open to all respectful opinions and feedback.
